Description

I haven't been working on this set of armor for nearly one month as I didn't know how to paint Worbla. Unlike craft foam, Worbla has glittery textures that I can't just paint it without preparation or treatment. Finally I figured out how to apply the 'magical' Gesso on Worbla armor. I was very nervous while painting Gesso because if I fail, it means I lose one piece of 5 hours work worth at least 20 USD, but it was a very fun experiment in overall!

1. Apply as many layers of Gesso as you can until all the Worbla textures are gone.
2. Smooth the product with sand paper to remove the textures of brush.
3. Apply white spray paint as under layer, makes the armor shines as well.
4. Finally, apply metallic silver spray paint and let it dry for couple of hours.

I could use silver spray paint but somehow I found normal silver looks very 'plastic' and lose the quality of metal and its natural clarity. Auto paint is a good choice but still I want the armor looks 'crystal clear' and auto paint might be too heavy. So far I'm very happy with the metallic silver spray paint I discovered at hardware store (and very cheap!!), it is not really craft material but a type of protection paint widely used on furniture. It's water prove too ^^ I love how the paint shines and create reflection!
